Mountain Commerce Bank Elects Two Business Leaders to Board of Directors

JOHNSON CITY, TN – September 23, 2015 – The board of directors of Mountain Commerce Bank (MCB) announces the addition of Wade H. Farmer and Michael L. Hatcher to the bank and holding company board.

Wade_FarmerWade H. Farmer is a certified public accountant with more than 20 years of experience in tax and estate planning. Since 2003, he has been a partner at Blackburn, Childers & Steagall, PLC, where he specializes in individual income tax, family entities, personal financial planning, and estate and trust services.

Farmer is also an owner of BCS Wealth Management, LLC; an owner and co-founder of Trinity Valuation Consulting Group, PLC; and an owner, co-founder and president of First Covenant Trust & Advisors, LLC.

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in management with a concentration in accounting, both from Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA. He earned his master’s degree in accounting from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN.

A resident of Telford, TN, Farmer serves as president of the Tri-Cities Estate Planning Council and chair of the deacon board of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also past chairman of the board of directors for Dawn of Hope. In 2005, Farmer was named to the Tri-Cities Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty.

Michael L. Hatcher is a certified public accountant with more than 40 years of leadership experience in finance and operations for companies including Cherokee Textile Mills, Inc., and Nutritional Support Services, Ltd. In 1990, Hatcher joined four emergency physicians to form what is now known as TeamHealth, where he served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer until 2004.

Michael_HatcherIn 2004, Hatcher co-founded Hatcher-Hill Properties, a real estate investment company focusing on commercial real estate development and historic redevelopment. With other investors, he also founded Medical Supplies of America, LLC, and Medical Waste of America, LLC. Hatcher serves as chairman of the board for both companies.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and a master’s of business administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

A resident of Knoxville, TN, Hatcher has served on various community boards including Knox Area Rescue Ministries and the American Cancer Society. He is also a founding investor and board member of The White Stone Group, Inc. Additionally, he is an angel investor in a variety of small, early stage companies in east and middle Tennessee.
