MOUNTAIN COMMERCE BEGINS DEMOLITION; EXPANSION IN BEARDEN
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Mountain Commerce Bank (MCB) accelerates its expansion into the Knoxville area with the demolition that began on March 3 of the Exxon gas station located at the intersection of Kingston Pike and Northshore Drive, and the subsequent construction of MCB’s new Bearden branch.
Demolition should end in approximately one week. The land was purchased in August 2007 for $2.5 million. To view a slideshow of demolition photos, visit MCB’s website at http://www.mcb.com/locations/inprogress.php#bearden.
Designed by BarberMcMurry architects, the new building will be 5,300 square feet and provide space for 8-12 employees. The Bearden location’s anticipated opening date is Sept./Oct. 2008.
MCB is continuing its growth in East Tennessee with the addition of three more branches in 2008 in Morristown, Erwin, and the Boones Creek section of Johnson City. The Morristown branch is currently open; a grand opening event is scheduled for April 10.
MCB also has plans to open a Farragut branch in the former Silver Spoon location in early 2009. Building plans have not yet been finalized.
